How can I motivate myself for UPSC?

How can I motivate myself for UPSC?

I have heard that an officer, who has been working with me for over two years, sat for the examination and cleared it. Although I don't have any grouse with him, I have, after he left for his course abroad, come to feel that I should be one of the best in the job, and I have started worrying over this, so much so that I am unable to concentrate on my daily routine. Please advise me.
